Post to a Forum in Moodle
A forum is one of the places in Moodle where your class can hold online discussions. You can configure your notification settings to receive emails from forum posts. This tutorial explains the different types of forums, walks you through posting in a forum, and replying to forum posts.

Forum Posting Pro-tip:

Save yourself a headache: when posting to a forum, type your response in Word (or the text editor of your choice) first and then copy/paste your post into the Moodle forum. This will help you avoid:

spelling grammar errors
lost work if Moodle times out

But remember: copy/pasting into the Moodle text editor from Word might mess up your formatting. To avoid this, save your post as a Word document and then use the Copy/paste from Word button (see the picture below) to upload your file. This method preserves your formatting perfectly!
