XProctor is how we proctor online tests at Midway University. An important consideration for the accreditation of online degrees is ensuring academic honestly. XProctor is a program that runs in the background while you take your online tests. It records video, pictures and sound as you take you test using your computer's camera and microphone.

How to use Xproctor

Xproctor creates a proctored environment on its website while you take your quiz on another site. There is no software to download. This environment is created by taking a few screenshots of what you are viewing and a few webcam pictures to ensure you are not looking at other material.

  1. Go to xweb.midway.edu/xproctor
  2. Sign in using your Midway University email and password.
  3. Click the “Submit and share webcam device” button and it will ask you to share your webcam and microphone.
  4. When it starts recording, the page will say "Now Recording started...". Once you see "Now Recording started..." you are in a proctored environment and can go and complete your proctored activity. You do not need to press the “Submit and share webcam device” button again.
  5. Once you are finished with your exam, you do not need to sign out of Xproctor, you simply exit out of the page.
