Department for Environmental Protection
Kentucky's remarkable natural resources have helped shape its economy, culture and history. Kentucky’s residents and businesses must work together to preserve the resource quality and diversity that make Kentucky a great place to live, work and play. The Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (DEP) has been given the duty to lead this effort to protect and enhance Kentucky’s environment.

Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet
The Kentucky Environmental Quality Commission (EQC) is a seven-member citizen advisory board that works diligently to strengthen the public's role in solving environmental problems in our communities and the state.
Kentucky Environmental Foundation
The Kentucky Environmental Foundation was founded in 1990 by Madison County, Kentucky residents focused on safe disposal of chemical weapons stockpiled at the Blue Grass Army Depot. For the past 25 years, KEF has participated in many state, regional and national environmental health and justice campaigns and in collaboration with others working to address air, water and soil pollution from both fossil fuels and hazardous waste manufacturing, storage and incineration.

Environmental Protection Agency
The mission of EPA is to protect human health and the environment. Environmental stewardship is integral to U.S. policies concerning natural resources, human health, economic growth, energy, transportation, agriculture, industry, and international trade, and these factors are similarly considered in establishing environmental policy. The EPA works to ensure that Americans have clean air, land and water.

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
NOAA is the agency assigned by the US Department of Commerce to understand and predict changes in climate, weather, oceans, and coasts, to share that knowledge and information with others, and to conserve and manage coastal and marine ecosystems and resources.

Air and Waste Management Association (AWMA)
The core purpose of A&WMA is to improve environmental knowledge and decisions by providing a neutral forum for exchanging information. The mission of A&WMA is to assist in the professional development and critical environmental decision-making of members to benefit society.
American Academy of Environmental Engineers (AAEE)
The American Academy of Environmental Engineers is dedicated to excellence in the practice of environmental engineering to ensure the public health, safety, and welfare to enable humankind to co-exist in harmony with nature.
American Planning Association
Aims to provide planning professionals, elected officials and community members with services, support and information to advance planning for land protection and use.
American Sanctuary Association (ASA)
Founded in 1998, the ASA is an accrediting organization that requires member animal sanctuaries to comply with a variety of high quality animal care standards and housing requirements. ASA actively works every single day to find sanctuary placement for a multitude of homeless, abandoned, seized and abused exotic animals, non-releasable native wild animals, farmed animals and companion animals.
Ecological Society of America (ESA)
ESA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization of scientists founded in 1915 to promote ecological science by improving communication among ecologists, raise the public's level of awareness of the importance of ecological science, increase the resources available for the conduct of ecological science, and ensure the appropriate use of ecological science in environmental decision making by enhancing communication between the ecological community and policy-makers.
National Audubon Society
The National Audubon Society (Audubon) is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to conservation. Located in the United States and incorporated in 1905, Audubon is one of the oldest of such organizations in the world and uses science, education and grassroots advocacy to advance its conservation mission.
