Password Requirements

The following are the requirements for Midway University passwords.

• Minimum password length 14 characters
• Avoid using easily guessable information such as birthdays, names, or common phrases
• Words associated with Midway University are not allowed

Policy will also check Microsoft's database of compromised credentials.

Password Policy

Midway University makes every effort to keep your credentials secure. Passwords are not accessible to our staff and they will never ask you for your password. Passwords are encrypted at all times. Password resets require two factor authentication using your personal cell phone number. If your number changes, you will need to verify your identity by calling the Midway IT Help Desk before it can be changed. 

It is important that you keep your password safe. Do not share it with friends or family. Do not re-use passwords from personal accounts. Do not use your Midway credentials on shopping, entertainment, or other non-university accounts. 

Midway IT continuously monitors user accounts for unusual activity and potential compromise. If your account is flagged, it may be temporarily disabled until the investigation is complete. At that time, you will be required to reset your password.
